Summer Camps at The Attic

Week 1: Water Week!
The first week at Attic Summer Camp is going to be led by two amazing Attic staff that are well equipped with knowledge about the outdoors and child education. Join us for a whole week of water play, scientific discovery, learning about the plants and animals around us, practicing being mindful of nature, getting a little dirty, and spending plenty of time at our beautiful creek! Come ready to build mini boats from nature, build a waterproof and insulating debris hut, make a HUGE splash, forage in the woods, make a human sized bubble, experiment with water at our creek, camouflage themselves in the mud and debris, and so much more! Campers will be able to bring home their mini boats, bubble blowers, indestructible bubble solution, a love for science and respect for nature, and more.
Week 2: Construction Week!
Join us on our beautiful 5 acre campus to participate in a week of design-build projects. Led by a staff member with a degree in landscape architecture and experience in the field, campers will follow the process through brainstorming, designing, drawing, building, and finishing their own construction projects. Campers will have the opportunity to build mini greenhouses to take home, learn about mixing concrete and make personalized stepping stones to bring home, and work together as a construction team to create one large project (to be voted on by campers)! If your child has a passion for hands-on learning and/or design, this is the camp for them!
Week 3: Art at The Attic!
Join us for a fabulous week all about art where each day we’ll explore different art mediums in both our indoor and our outdoor classroom spaces. Campers will have the chance to experiment with paint, paper, collage, fiber arts, and murals, and bring home their creations every day! Campers will make their own paint from materials we collect in nature. We’ll also explore the many different ways to use paint; with a brush, with our fingers, with sponges, with sprayers and so much more! We will also learn how we can make paper ourselves with blenders, recyclables, and natural materials, as well as origami, paper mache, and epic paper airplanes. When we bring out the fabric campers will start exploring different ways to dye fabric including flower hammering, splatter painting, tye dying and much more! On our last day of art week campers will be going BIG. Campers will be able to practice any of their favorite art activities from the week on a large canvas of their own, as well as work together on a large mural on The Attic campus!
Week 4: Magic at The Attic!
- On Monday, come prepared to concoct potions! We will be boiling, mixing, harvesting, reading and recording recipes, and even making some deliciously edible potions! Ever wondered what a giant vat of oobleck felt like? How to make a color changing potion? How to make the bubbliest of bubble potions? Or, maybe what ingredients go into an ice cream potion? Join us for a magical day at our cauldrons!
- Join us on Tuesday for a day all about fairies and other magical creatures. Does your student delight in the miniature world of butterflies and fairies? Perhaps they are fascinated by the sneaky habits of hidden wildlife? Campers can enjoy fairy house making, peering into the microscopic world beneath our feet, wildlife study, as well as butterfly and fairy wing art.
- Join us on Wednesday to attend beloved classes straight out of Hogwarts. Study the stars, make wands, explore ancient runes and the history of magic, experience herbology, and, of course, play a game of quidditch! All campers are encouraged to dress in their Hogwarts house colors.
- On Thursday we will be practicing our best magic tricks! We will be learning about the secrets behind some of the most iconic magicians’ tricks, practicing our performance arts skills, and using many different props to create our very own magic show!
- Last, but definitely not least, on Friday campers will attempt to decode a treasure map! To find the treasure, campers will be given every tool at our disposal, compasses, rulers, pens, paper, binoculars, and of course, hidden clues! Campers will rely on the magic of their own minds to uncover a real hidden treasure!
