Social-Emotional Development
We believe that education is not just about academics, but about the development of the learner as a whole person. For this reason, social-emotional development is a core focus of our program. At the heart of this development is unconditional acceptance of and respect for all people in our community.
From that foundational understanding, Attic learners of all ages are supported to communicate, collaborate, reflect, and self-determine. Our Raven (Middle Program) learners more formally engage these areas of learning in the “Quest” class, and our high school (Secondary Program) learners in their “Visioneering” classes. Meaningful and authentic multi-age interactions strengthen our learners’ social-emotional well being.
