Middle & High School Program

Our Middle School Program is the Raven class (roughly ages 12-14), and is the beginning of the transition to high school. With growing and shifting minds, bodies, and perspectives, our learners are valued as whole beings navigating an often blustery and perplexing period of life. Honoring these changes, our learners experience social-emotional growth through intentional classes and community time. Building on the foundations of our Elementary program, Raven learners are exposed to more complex and rigorous academic content and have greater choice in their daily schedule. Learners at this age have an opportunity to learn in partnership with kids both older and younger.

The Attic’s High School Program serves learners during their high school years (roughly ages 14-18). Attic teens are offered a full range of academic classes, and they may satisfy Washington State high school graduation requirements through Attic classes. In their last two years of high school, however, some Attic teens choose to enroll in The Attic on a part-time basis, supplementing their Attic classes with Running Start. Attic high school learners also have the opportunity to work with their teachers to design independent studies and internship programs that meet their individual needs. For all teen learners, The Attic offers ongoing academic and advising support, as well as a strong and accepting peer and multi-age community.
